Before Your Baby’s Birth
After an initial consultation and get-to-know-each-other time, we will meet for two prenatal visits.
At these visits we will:
- talk through your hopes, desires, and expectations for your birth, (including any fears you may have)
- discuss pregnancy, labor, and birth topics, and any questions that might come up
- dive into comfort measures for different stages of labor, roles of people on your support “team,” and any specific topics for which you desire extra information/resources
I will be “on-call” for your birth starting two weeks before your estimated due date.
During Labor and Birth
Once you call me and I meet you at your home, hospital, or birth center, you will have continuous support from me until one to two hours after your baby is born. (If you will be birthing at a hospital or birth center but want to labor at home before heading there, I am more than happy to be with you in your home as well.)
After Your Baby is Born
Besides staying with you for an hour or two after your baby’s birth, I will also arrange to meet with you at least once in your home about a week after the birth. At this visit we will talk through your birth experience and discuss any questions or concerns you may have or resources you might desire. I will, of course, ask to hold your precious newborn!
Fees
The fee for my birth doula services is $800. Half of that ($400) will be requested up front to add your due date to my calendar. The remaining amount will need to be paid by your due date.
